You've heard of it, everybody's talking about it, the hype is huge, it's one of the hottest topics, maybe you've even Googled a number of resources to find out more about it. Yet, are you sure you got it right? How confident are you about your understanding of AI?

The objectives of this course, AIM4YOU, are to demystify AI, and yet to explain it to young people in a way that makes AI even more intriguing. Yes, be careful – AI can be addictive!

The course will guide you through some of the most exciting AI topics, but first you will learn the basic concepts and terminology. Different course modules explain what AI is and what it isn't, where should we look for it in the real world, as well as how it can benefit (or threaten?) our society. There are a lot of examples that illustrate the concepts covered in the course. As a matter of fact, for the large part the AIM4YOU course follows the learning-by-example approach. Still, parts of the course delve deeper into the foundational aspects of different AI topics and techniques.

What will be your major takeaway from AIM4YOU? The authors hope it will be a good understanding of what knowledgeable people mean when they use the term AI, as opposed to what laypersons believe AI is. Also, you will assimilate the essence of the major techniques used in different subfields of AI. Last but not least, you will be able to critically assess the difference between human intelligence and AI and will have a number of ideas about how AI can be used to support, develop and create… well, many things. And then you decide if you want to pursue AI any further and any deeper.
